2016年9月，由江蘇省產業技術研究院、智能制造核心團隊與南京市江北新區共同發起成立了江蘇省產業技術研究院智能制造技術研究所，工商注冊名稱“江蘇集萃智能制造技術研究所有限公司”，研究所（公司）主攻虛擬工廠的設計、高端裝備的研制與可制造執行系統開發等三大方向。面向智能制造與機器人領域，通過制造與信息技術深度融合，探索產學研合作機制，致力于突破智能制造相關領域關鍵與共性技術，培養高層次人才，開發高新技術，孵化高技術企業。
經過五年發展，研究所（公司）已經引進了海內外知名院校在內的20多位智能制造技術領域的領軍人才，育聚了150多位具有碩士及以上學歷或有多年開發與管理經驗的核心團隊；投資數億元打造機器人與智能制造公共技術服務平臺，培育江蘇省智能機器人創新中心與江蘇省智能機器人工程研究中心，被評為國家高新技術企業、南京市新型研發機構。通過了ISO9001質量管理體系、武器裝備質量管理體系、CE、CNAS 、ISO27001信息安全管理體系、ISO20000信息技術服務管理體系要求、CMMI 3級、CCRC軟件開發三級認證，被納入醫用機器人標準技術歸口單位，駱敏舟被聘為專家組組員。
研究所（公司）五年來申報成功50多項縱向項目，簽訂30多項橫向研發合同，開發了多條自動化生產線，與西門子、斯凱孚、三重工、蘇美達、中航工業609所等大型企業或上市公司達成合作關系；累計申報各類專利和軟件著作權共290余項，其中發明專利100多項；以市場需求為導向，開發了10多項新技術和新產品，包括協作機器人、穿刺機器人、四足機器人、低速無人清洗車、智能化護理床、永磁無刷力矩電機、低成本激光雷達等高科技產品，獲得機器人領域最高榮譽恰佩克新銳獎。孵化了45家科技型企業，共培育高企4家，合同額超7億；設立了2.5億元智能制造產業投資基金；正在籌建120畝的產業化基地；與美國西北大學、密西根州立大學、澳大利亞莫納什大學等世界多所一流大學和科研機構進行技術合作與人員交流。

IIMT focuses on the research of three core and key technologies in the field of intelligent manufacturing : Digital Factory Technology (DFT), Intelligent Equipment Technology (IET), and Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and focusing on research on key and common technologies of smart manufacturing, many demonstration applications have been achieved in the field of smart factories.
IIMT is oriented to the field of intelligent manufacturing and robotics. Through the in-depth integration of manufacturing and information technology, it explores the mechanism of industry-university-research cooperation, and is committed to breaking through key and common technologies in intelligent manufacturing related fields, cultivating high-level talents, developing high-tech, and incubating high-tech enterprises.
In the past four years, IIMT has successfully applied for more than 50 vertical projects, signed more than 30 horizontal R&D contracts, and developed a number of automated production lines; a total of more than 300 patents and software copyrights of various types have been declared, including more than 100 invention patents; based on market demand Oriented, developed more than 10 new technologies and new products, including collaborative robots, puncture robots, quadruped robots, low-speed unmanned cleaning vehicles, intelligent nursing beds, permanent magnet brushless torque motors, low-cost laser radars and other high-tech products , Won the Capek Emerging Award, the highest honor in the robotics field.
